Game Scope Classifier

Place any game on our production scope chart, from Kei to AAA, with its credits and its size on disk.

Scope of video games according to the Hushcrasher Classification System: the size on disk against the number of people in the credits, both on log scales, with the Kei, Midi, AA and AAA areas.

Classify a game yourself

  1. Check the credits length, excluding special thanks and playtesters (on MobyGames or by checking the game directly).
  2. Check the game size (see the recommended "storage" on its Steam page or on steamdb).
  3. Pinpoint its location on the chart.

Method

The chart is a simplified version of our production scope classification: credits count and install size, the two variables that weigh most, place a game in one of four classes. The full method is in our paper, A Semi-Supervised Taxonomy of Game Production Scope, and on our Game Taxonomy research page.
